There is arguably a no more classic or distinctive cut of denim than the 55, the wider thigh and anti-fit seat, worn with a high cuff hark back to the rebellious greaser teens of the 1950's, or the original rockers and bikers who have served as inspiration for each successive generation since - the 55 is the original rebel jean.
Jelado have taken a specifically made 14oz low tension denim made from yarns 6, 8 and 20, and have made an over-sized shrink to fit pattern which will best utilise the unique shrink features of the denim; please expect shrinkage of up to 2 inches in the leg and 1 inch in the waist (+ commensurate overall shrinkage). The denim is coarse and stiff to begin with but softens quickly and will fade evenly over time, just like the classic jeans of the 50's.
Getting the wrong fit is upsetting, we know from long experience, please do double check against our HOW WE MEASURE guide, and the measurements table. We recommend you measure against an existing pair of jeans that you like the fit of, and then choose accordingly (but bear in mind that the measurements are in the raw state). If you have any doubt about size PLEASE email us, we are so familiar with getting the right fit.
This is a raw denim jean, please expect shrinkage commensurate with the nature of the fabric (see above). We recommend an initial cold soak to settle the stitching and to ascertain optimum fit.
PLEASE NOTE: The listed measurements for this jean are pre-soak.
