While some view black denim as an appendage, an afterthought to the indigo staple, Trophy produce a black jean whose denim and details place it uniquely as a formidable item in its own right.
It is made from the same 14.5oz rough, slubby, hairy dirt denim as the signature Dirt Denim jeans with two colour selvedge, and is stitched using vintage Union sewing machines, but where it differs is that it is warp dyed to a very definitive black, using a furtive pigment dye, while the weft is dyed using an extremely dark brown dye, which means that it will fade like no other black jean out there.
Due to the differing dyeing process you are left with a denim which sits evenly between the Dirt and Garage denim in terms of texture, it is nowhere near as uneven as the Dirt Denim, but is also not as smooth as the Garage denim.
The cut is the same as the standard Dirt denim, which is a flattering and modern, straight cut with an almost unnoticeable taper below the knee. A subtle adjustment with a dramatic effect, as is the trademark of the brand.
Getting the wrong fit is upsetting, we know from long experience, please do double check against our HOW WE MEASURE guide, and the measurements table. We recommend you measure against an existing pair of jeans that you like the fit of, and then choose accordingly. If you have any doubt about size PLEASE email us, we are so familiar with getting the right fit.
This is a sanforised jean. The process of sanforising denim is designed to remove all of the shrink from it, and take away the guess work of the wearer when purchasing denim. Sanforised denim can be worn straight from the package. Washing should be done with the jeans turned inside out, and creases should still be straightened if tumble drying is required to avoid unsightly marks on the denim. As with all natural woven fabrics the denim will feel tighter after a wash, but it will stretch back out to its original size. If machine washing we recommend washing at no higher than 30 degrees celsius.
